Who we are

The Family Counseling Center is a private, nonprofit agency established in 1957 by the Junior League of Macon and the United Way of Central Georgia to help people in times of stress. The center has master’s level, licensed therapists, trained in marriage and family therapy, social work, and psychology. Their credentials, licensing, and training assure the highest quality of service. The clinical staff adheres to the Code of Ethics of the National Association of Social Workers and the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.

Families in Transition (F.I.T.)

The Families in Transition (F.I.T.) program is designed for parents of minor children navigating divorce, separation, custody changes, or other significant family structure changes. This class focuses on helping parents co-parent effectively while addressing the emotional and developmental needs of their children.

Client Advocacy Services

The Family Counseling Center of Central Georgia offers the unique service of client service advocacy. A Client Advocate helps families and individuals navigate the potential supports and systems to help achieve holistic health and goals.

Victim Counseling

The Family Counseling Center provides free professional counseling for crime victims and their families, helping them navigate the emotional and psychological challenges following a traumatic event. This service is available at no charge to individuals with a relevant police report, offering a safe space to begin healing.

Adoption and Custody Home Evaluations

The Family Counseling Center conducts professional home evaluations required by Superior Courts for adoption or custody changes. Serving several counties in Central Georgia, these evaluations provide essential information to help judges make informed decisions about the best interests of the child.

Individual, Couples and Family Counseling Services

The Family Counseling Center provides professional therapy for individuals, couples, and families in Macon and Warner Robins. Our trained therapists address challenges such as relationships, parenting, depression, and substance abuse, offering affordable and confidential care to help you start your journey to healing.
