Families in Transition (F.I.T.)

The Families in Transition (F.I.T.) program is designed for parents of minor children navigating divorce, separation, custody changes, or other significant family structure changes. This class focuses on helping parents co-parent effectively while addressing the emotional and developmental needs of their children.

Supporting Families Through Change

The F.I.T. class equips parents with tools and insights to help their children adjust to family changes. Topics covered include:

  • Co-parenting strategies.
  • Child developmental stages and appropriate behaviors.
  • Stages of grief and emotional adjustment.
  • Blended family dynamics and financial considerations.
  • Divorce statistics and available resources.

The program’s primary goal is to minimize the impact of family transitions on children and foster a collaborative approach to parenting.

This class is open to anyone but is court-mandated for parents of children under 18 seeking a divorce. Both parents are required to attend.
