Family Investment Center
The Family Investment Center, located at 905 Main St. in east Macon, is a "one-stop shop" for social services. The center, a service of the Macon Housing Authority, is located in a public housing development called Davis Homes. The Family Investment Center has staff from several agencies that provide families with needed resources that are accessible and affordable. Those agencies and their services include the Middle Georgia Council on Drugs; the Motivating Youth Foundation; Phillip's Children Performing Arts Studio; the Violence Intervention Program; Community Health Works; 7000 Men; the Macon Housing Authority (resident services); Central Georgia Technical College's Project READ; and Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity's Head Start prekindergarten program. Anyone who needs these services may come by the Family Investment Center and speak with a counselor for a referral to an appropriate program.
The Family Counseling Center provides free counseling for Macon residents of public housing, Section 8 or HOPE VI programs; recipients of food stamps and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families; Habitat for Humanity participants; and clients of the Family Investment Center. Your session may be at the Family Investment Center or at the Family Counseling Center office in downtown Macon. This service is available through partial funding from the city of Macon's Community Development Block Grant program.
Residents of public housing or Section 8 programs; food stamp and TANF recipients; and Habitat for Humanity participants are also eligible for counseling at no charge at our Warner Robin's office, located at 106-B Olympia Drive. This service is available through the city of Warner Robins' Community Development Block Grant program.
