Adoption and Custody Home Evaluations

The Family Counseling Center offers home evaluations for those individuals and couples who want to adopt a child or those families seeking a change in custody of minor children through the court system. A Family Counseling Center staff member will come to your home and discuss with you the implications of the changes to your family, as well as gather the information that will help the judge determine the best situation for the children involved. The Superior Courts require these home visits, and the Family Counseling Center is the agency designated to complete the evaluations in several Central Georgia counties. The fee is $300 plus $2 per mile for our round-trip travel from our office to your home. Our report to the court involves a detailed social/economic family history and criminal background check,  including fingerprint records.
